Mobile Internet Pioneer Anurag Mendhekar named CEO of PixSense
Santa Clara, CA – August 16, 2010 –PixSense, one of the world’s fastest growing mobile social media platform providers, today announced the appointment of Dr. Anurag Mendhekar as its new President and Chief Executive Officer. As its new CEO, Dr. Mendhekar will shepherd the company through a phase of explosive international growth. Dr. Mendhekar, also one of the founders of PixSense has remained Chairman of the board since its founding. Founding CEO Faraz Hoodbhoy will continue with the company as the Senior Vice President of Business Development and Alliances and continue to serve on PixSense’s board of directors.
PixSense’s MSP platform, which allows mobile operators to launch high–growth, high–traffic social media services has emerged to be a highly profitable channel for mobile operators to not only monetize user generated media, but also their other VAS offerings.

Dr. Mendhekar brings an impressive track record of nearly 15 years as a serial entrepreneur with experience in general management, marketing, business development and technology management. PixSense is one of four startups that Dr. Mendhekar has founded. A well–known pioneer in the Mobile Internet space, Dr. Mendhekar was a founder of Online Anywhere, which was acquired by Yahoo! Inc. to form its Yahoo! Everywhere division. Within 2 years of the acquisition, Dr. Mendhekar’s leadership in international business development and product management led Yahoo!’s mobile internet service to be distributed on over forty carriers worldwide. Dr. Mendhekar was also Founder of Blue Vector Systems, where he served as the CEO and brought advanced sensor–network management technology to supply–chain automation systems for pharmaceutical manufacturers and distributors.
